Valika was born in Geneva, Switzerland. She graduated from College Claparède where she specialized in fine arts. In March 2003 Valika organized her first exhibition in the city of Geneva. In September 2005 she opened her own art gallery where she has been hosting the work of local guest artists and today, she is exhibiting her own artwork. At a very early stage of her artistic carrier, Valika started to create boxes, which she would enhance and personalize with her painting. Soon, this art form became a prolific way of expression and a trademark for Valika.
Among the distinct techniques Valika uses to accomplish her paintings and boxes, we can also find collage and multi-layers painting. These techniques give two extra dimensions to her artwork: physical depth and virtual depth. The paintings become now tri-dimensional objects you will not only look at, but also feel the textures of them with your eyes. Your imagination is now stimulated by a new sense: the visual touch. The research of expressive colors and textures, as well as all the elements hidden in different layers will let you sink in the magical world of Valika’s paintings. |
